Note: At the moment, transfers to bank accounts not nominated in NGN, GHS, KES, TZS, or UGX have to be in USD, GBP or EUR. This will then be converted to the local currency based on provided mid-market rates.

How Swift Bank Transfer Work

It’s so easy to carry out international (swift) transfers. You cando this in few steps by using our website or app as seen below:

1.Register

Sign Up for a Varmstra account if you are new or login with your existing details. (It takes just few minutes to create an account).

2. Choose A Delivery Method

3. Beneficiary/recipients Bank Details

In the next form that pops up, fill all required fields by entering your recipient’s bank account name and bank details . That is beneficiary name as registered in the said bank account ,bank name and account details ( IBAN number / account number, routing and or SWIFT code).

4. Select currency type

Choose one of our acceptable international transfer currency, the USD/GPB/EUR of your choice. In the currency dropdown menu and enter the amount you intend to send, considering the fact that a transfer fee will be debited from the said amount and your recipient will only receive the net balance.

Note, if you are sending to United Kingdom, kindly select GPB and EUR if you are sending to any other European country which is not UK and select USD when sending to any other country in the world which is not UK or Europe.

5. Beneficiary Bank Address

Enter the beneficiary’s bank address information’s such as street number, street name, city, country and post code in the provided fields. You can have this informations by requested them from the beneficiary.

6. Reason for sending the money

In the narration field, write the purpose of sending the money in brief. For example. For family allowance, children fees, saving etc

7. Verification & Confirmation of transfer fees

With the transfer charged display at the bottom of the sending form, proceed by clicking the transfer money button if you are ok with the amount or charge/fee.

8. Choose how you intend to pay

Choose how you want to pay, by selecting one of the available payment methods (credit/visa cards, coin-payments or crypto-currencies, your wallet balance, PayPal etc. available in your region. Country as shown on the generated invoice.

9. Proceed With Payment

Make your payment by following the checkout screen to finalize the process.

How long do international bank transfers take?

It varies depending on where you’re sending money to. To countries found in the bank transfer group ‘’Other Bank transfers’’ that include Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa, your transfer would be almost instant. If you’re sending to countries like Germany and China etc., it would take 1-2 days or more, depending on the country.

How much does an international bank transfer cost?

The fees for sending a bank transfer to your loved ones will depend on the country you’re sending to. But we’re delighted to say that we won’t charge you much fees as our gold is to give our customers the most affordable rates in all our services.

Where can I send an international bank transfer to?

Can I cancel a bank transfer?

Why has my recipient not received my bank/Swift transfer?

There could be a number of reasons your family and friends don’t receive their bank transfer within the expected timescale, including:

  • We could need extra information from you, before your transfer is processed.
  • We may need extra information from the recipient (such as ID).
  • Time scales for transfer delivery are counted in working days. This means that public holidays and/or weekends are not counted in the delivery timescale. So they may extend delivery dates beyond what you may expect.
  • In a very small number of cases, technical issues can occur that affect the recipient's bank's ability to credit the transfer

Is there a limit on the maximum amount that I can send?

The maximum amount you can send as a bank transfer depends on :

  • the country you’re sending to
  • the country you’re sending from
  • the payment option you choose
  • our local partner’s transaction limits
  • Your verification status
  • Whether you are as user or representing an reseller, business or a company.

What is a BIC or Swift code?

The Bank Identifier Code (BIC) or SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Inter-bank Financial Telecommunication) code is used in many countries around the world to identify the country, bank and branch that a bank account is registered to. So both provide vital information in sending a money transfer. The code is either 8 or 11 digits long and includes both numbers and letters.

What is an IBAN?

An International Bank Account Number (IBAN) identifies an individual account (country, bank, branch and account number) in an individual transaction. What is an ABA Routing Number?

An ABA (American Bankers Association) routing number is a 9-digit number used to identify banks in the US, similar to a UK sort code. It can usually be found on the bottom left hand corner of a US check. For more information, or if your recipient cannot find their ABA routing number, they should contact their bank.

What is a Canada Transit Number?

The Canada Transit Number is a 5-digit code that identifies the bank and branch that an account is registered to. It can usually be found at the bottom left hand corner of the customer’s check. For more information on this, or if your recipient cannot find their Canada Transit Number, they should contact the check issuer.
